The regular meeting of the Bruce Township Board was held on January 10,2013 at the Bruce Township Hall with board members Rogers, Pins, Marsh, Sawyers and LaJoie present.  Absent none.  Also in attendance were 6 township residents.  The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.


            Public Comments:  Irene Cryderman and Donna Batho were present to make the Board aware of things that needed cleaned in the Hall. The Supervisor stated that these things were going to be corrected.  The Supervisor will tour the Hall to be shown some of the things that need done.


            The minutes of the regular meeting held on December 13, 2012 were presented.  Motion was made by Rogers, seconded by Pins to accept the minutes as presented.  All were in favor, motion carried.


            Motion was made by Pins, seconded by LaJoie to pay the bills.  Checks #7281 through # 7315 were presented for a total of $14,866.27.    All were in favor, motion carried.


            County Commission Report:  Commissioner McLean was not present.


            Reports of Special Meetings:  Supervisor Marsh attended a Chippewa County Road Board Meeting.  Riverside Drive between 9 Mile Rd. and 15 Mile Rd. is scheduled for black topping at an approximate cost of $80,000.00.  15 Mile from M-129 and Scenic Dr. is in the 6 year period and is on stand by.


            Zoning Administrator:  There were no permits issued this month.  There were 34 permits issued in 2012.


            Assessor’s Report:  The Assessor is wrapping up new construction in the Township.  The Board of Review will hold an organizational meeting on March 4, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.  Board of Review will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.


            Planning Commission Report: The Planning Commission met on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.  Election of officers was held with everyone keeping their same positions.  They also approved the meeting dates.


            Treasurer’s Report:  The Treasurer’s report was read.  The balance of all funds is $631,198.45.


            Clerk’s Report:  The correspondence consist of Board of Review training which is on the agenda later.


            Firemen’s Report:  The Department had no calls last month.  They received a 50-50 grant for $4,999.00.  They will purchase wild land gear.  There is one person taking fire fighter class.


            Grounds and Park Report:  There was no report.


            Old Business:  The Supervisor talked to the DNR on the boat launch at Conely’s Point.  The money that was to be appropriated in February will be moved to April.


            A work session to continue work on our Township Policies has been scheduled for Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.


            The part for the big refrigerator has been order by ACC Planned Service, Inc.


            New Business:  MTA will hold the 2013 Board of Review training February 7th at St. Ignace.  The Supervisor and three BOR members will attend.


            Public Comment:  The question was asked about the Donaldson Cemetery being set up with a board and now only has one member on the board. It was suggested that Mrs. Mortinsen be contacted and see if she found any information like this when she contacted the State.


            Motion was made by Rogers, seconded by Pins to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor, motion carried.  The Supervisor adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
